Dmitry Gorchakov

Graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the Ural State University in Russia with a degree in nuclear reactors and power plants. He completed postgraduate studies at the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in environmental protection. He has more than 20 years experience in nuclear science and nuclear energy use. He also researched radioecology at the Russian Academy of Sciences, developed technologies for radioactive waste management and environmental monitoring for the private sector and worked as an independent consultant and analyst.
He has many publications in the Russian media, given lectures on nuclear energy, has written for science publications and participated in educational activities, and has published popular blogs on nuclear topics. He has visited dozens of nuclear facilities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Lithuania.
After February 24, 2022, Dmitry moved to Vilnius and joined Bellona. During this time, he has co-authored several reports and working papers, published analytical articles and participates in the creation of the Bellona's monthly nuclear digest.
